The Date 5 part 3

Rainbow Dash led Rumble to the park, telling him what were the best things to say if he was going to talk to Scootaloo.

"No outfits required?" asked Rumble, thinking if he should put that suit and those sunglasses he threw away back on.

"It's way to overdone when you do something like that, little dude", Rainbow replied, "I think I know who to consult for more information"

Rainbow Dash then turned her gaze towards Griffy the Pygmy Griffin's Maple Tree home and whistled as a signal to get his attention. Griffy poked his head out of the tree's leaves, twitching his Kangaroo-like ears in high alert.

"Oh, jamboha, Rainbow. And you must be Thunder Lane's younger brother", said Griffy, "What goes on?"

"Rumble's got a crush on Scootaloo and I'm showing him the ropes", replied Rainbow Dash, accidently getting Rumble to blush at her revealing a personal secret to another being.

"Uuuuhhhh...Tell me how it turns out", said Griffy, flying out of his tree, "I have to go do my part-time spa janitor job"

As soon as the small brown Griffin departed for the spa, Rainbow Dash and Rumble spotted Scootaloo up ahead, chasing some Moths for fun. She was not trying to eat them (clearly not, because of being a herbivore), she was only loving the feel of jumping around at them.

"Hey, Scootaloo!" called Rainbow Dash, "I've got a surprise for you!"

At the sound of her hero calling her over for a surprise, Scootaloo got very excited and rushed right for Rainbow Dash, completely deserting the Moth chase. Scootaloo immediately haulted as soon as she saw Rumble standing by Rainbow Dash's side.

"What's going on here?" asked Scootaloo, a little suspicious about what might have been going on.

"Rumble Lane, here, wants to tell you something", said Rainbow. She then began to trot away to give them space

As soon as Rainbow Dash was out of sight (she was hiding on top of a cloud, watching from overhead), Rumble and Scootaloo looked at each other, Rumble blushing massively.

"So, Scoot", mumbled Rumble, "I just wanted to let you know that I-"

"You wish to irritate me more with your stupid pick-up lines from your brother?", interupted Scootaloo, looking at Rumble straight in the eye, thinking that Rumble was trying to annoy her on purpose, like a bully.

"I-It's not that!" stammered Rumble, backing away a few steps from her, "I want to really tell you how I really feel about you"

"What do you mean?" asked Scootaloo, acting a bit intrigued with what he said to her.

"I-I think you're cool", said Rumble, blushing, "I like how you ride your scooter and do other kinds of sports. I also like how brave you are"

"Gee", mumbled Scootaloo, begining to blush as well, "Thanks...I-I also think you're pretty cool too. I like how you can do sharp turns when flying and how brave you are, too"

"Thanks. S-So, I m-m-mean to tell y-you that I-I", stammered Rumble, his heart beating quickly, "I-I r-really like y-you a lot, I mean it"

"I guess I f-feel the same w-w-way about you, too", stammered Scootaloo, her heart also beating quickly, "Say, Rumble, you think you can show me how to fly properly? I seem to be missing something about actually flying and we're the same age and yet you can do it good"

"Of course I'll help", replied Rumble acting bashfull.

"Thank you, so much!" said Scootaloo with a happy expression on her face. She was, for the first time in her life, feeling a bit boy-crazy. And then, quite unexpectedly, Scootaloo lay a sweet little kiss on Rumble's cheek, causing them both to blush massively.

Rainbow Dash watched from on top of that same cloud, and found this moment very heart-warming.

"She may be a tomboy, like me", Rainbow said in her thoughts, "But even love can unleash Scoot's more softer side. Just like it's done to me with my feelings for Soarin"








Rumble showed Scootaloo how to first get a running start while flapping your wings and officially taking to the wing.

Around the end of the day, Rainbow Dash was grazing on grass when she spotted both Rumble and Scootaloo sitting together, side to side, on a hilltop, watching the beautiful sunset. Griffy then flew out of nowhere to see what was up.

"Hey, Rainbow Dash", said Griffy, "What did I miss?"

"You can still see it right now", replied Rainbow, pointing to the hill the two foals sat upon.

"They sure grow up fast", said Griffy with a smile.

As the two sat by eachother's side, watching the sun setting over the horizon, Scootaloo felt a little tired and begin to lay her head on Rumble's shoulder, making Rumble blush. He could tell that she was very happy to be with him and he was very happy to be with her.

"Should we arrange early wedding plans for them, and commence it once they are registered for marriage?" asked Griffy.

Rainbow Dash chuckled, and she and Griffy left as Scootaloo and Rumble sat together.
