The Last Human: chapter 3

As Garble limply flew towards his cave, his family spotted him returning with a dead Squirrel in his mouth and his body covered in claw marks and tooth marks. Garble collapsed onto the cliff in exhaustion, munching the Squirrel to regain his energy.

"What happened to you?" asked his sister, Rogva, "Did you really go through so much trouble to catch a Squirrel?"

"B-before I got the Sq-Squirrel", stammered Garble in a weak-sounding tone, "I was attacked by a monstrous-acting Ape"

"You were nearly killed by some Ape?" asked his mother. She rushed over to him and began to lick him effectionately to make him feel better (mothers do that, you know).

"It would appear that Dragons are not the most dangerous Animal on the planet", said his father, "And neither is a Quarry Eel, nor an Ursa. But still, I can't imagine any Primate like that living today, one that is daring enough to eat something like us"

Rogva felt so concerned for her brother, that she kneeled down and started to pray. "Almighty Alicorns, please help my brother get better and-"

"You're praying to those Pony things for help?" critisized Garble.

"Never disrespect the Alicorns, Garble", said his mother, "They are the lords of the universe"

"Indeed, they are", added his father.

Rogva continued to pray for her brother's physical condition to be good again soon.










Back in Ponyville, Spike was helping Twilight Sparkle file books in their library home. All of a sudden, he belched out a new messege from Princess Celestia.

"Twilight", said Spike, as he read the messege, "Celestia wants us to investigate some strange activity that's been happening within the Everfree Forest, lately"

"We better round up our friends", said Twilight, "They can help us out. I wonder if this mystery has to do with that loud call that echoed for miles, just an hour ago.
